We live in a world that is setup in non-stop multi-tasking status.

At work we are trying to juggle multiple tasks at one time to get everything done for each day.

At home we are trying to cook dinner while taking the dogs out when we get home.

Even when we go and take a shower we will listen to podcasts while bathing ourselves.

We need to have one focus!

The truth is it is nearly impossible to leave the multi-task lifestyle unless you have the opportunity to be 100% independent. This is possible, but not easy to accomplish, and it requires a lot of work in order to get here.

What we can do however is have a single focus. A single goal that we put all of our free time to focus on. We still need to take care of all of our responsibilities, everything we have to multitask doing. We can focus on just one primary goal though.

For example I have many individual goals of things I want to accomplish both in my professional life, as well as my personal life. I have the responsibility of my job which I carry multiple titles and responsibilities at. I have the responsibility of Dexter, my 5 month old lab puppy. I have the responsibility of the day to day tasks I need to do to take care of myself, taking my medications and vitamins, preparing and eating meals, etc. I also have my professional responsibilities such as writing content for Medium, writing for upcoming video series, editing videos for clients, and planning other production for my business.

I need to have one single focus that takes priority every day. It doesn’t need to take priority over all of my regular day-to-day responsibilities, but it needs to take priority in my life. I need to make sure I am making time for it.

For me my next focus is getting daily exercises that are specifically focused on burning belly fat. I work with a personal trainer once a week, but it isn’t going to happen anytime soon that I lose the rest of this big belly. I use to weigh around 400lbs, I am down just below 300lbs now. I want to drop even more weight and be in better health overall.

Accomplishing This Focus

How will I get this focus to work? I am entering into stage one, which won’t take long. I am looking at what exercises will focus on my belly the most? Okay, crunches, squats, push ups, etc. Now that I know what those are I need to plan what time am I going to do it daily. For me the easiest time to implement it is going to be morning and evenings, after getting up and before going to bed.

Now I know what I need to do to accomplish my goal. I don’t need it to take long, or be a full on workout. I just need to do it consistently and make sure it is impacting my goal. So I set myself a goal, I am going to do sets of 50 of each exercise, once in the morning and once in the evenings.

That is twice a day that I am fighting that fat! Over the next 30 days I want to maintain this focus, and see the outcome that comes from it, then analyze it and see what steps or changes I need to make if any. When I have accomplished this, and it has become a regular part of my life where it does not take a conscious effort to get it done, then I can move on to the next goal.

What is your goal?

Take a moment and write down some of the things you’d like to see yourself accomplish in your life. Select one of those goals and begin to center your focus on the one goal, and look into what you need to do to accomplish it, and get started with that being your main focus!
