RESPECT: What is that?

This is my first article ever to get published on Medium, so bear with me I may make you mad, or angry because I tend to express my thoughts and opinions openly and not be worried about whether you agree with me or not.

That being said I do feel like RESPECT is not only something that everyone desires to receive but should also be a trait or skill we practice regularly.

You see RESPECT is a series of positive feelings or actions shown towards someone or something or held in high esteem or regard. A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something.

RESPECT is more commonly defined that whoever or whatever is admired is someone or something that is IMPORTANT to whoever is delivering RESPECT.

RESPECT is so important that there is even a song by Aretha Franklin all about RESPECT. The song focuses on R-E-S-P-E-C-T and the how none is being received, and all she wants is a little RESPECT from her mister when he gets home.

The issue of people not receiving and not delivering RESPECT has been a problem for a while, this song was written and released in 1967. If RESPECT was an issue then, obviously nothing has changed since the lack of it has become even more of a problem today in 2018.

It is not that people don’t know how to deliver RESPECT, that is a common skill often times not needing to be taught at all, it comes naturally. The problem we face is the issue of what we consider important, or what is really important, who we consider important?

Something to think on, do you consider all life important? Whether you know the person or not is their life not precious to someone somewhere whether you witness it or not?

Do you deliver RESPECT whether you receive it or not?

R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
