So we’re supposed to be happy with being angry and saddened?

One of my biggest frustration that I have with the others around me is they choose to be focused on the darkness, and negativity of the world 24/7/365.

Now I am not going to tell you that we shouldn’t be aware of, acknowledge, and address the darkness throughout the world. Spiritual Warfare is where that darkness stems from and we need to take a stand in the war.

The issue is when you make it 100% of your life to focus on that darkness. The darkness is where negativity, depression, anxiety, frustration, anger, all of it stems from the Spiritual Battles and the influence that the enemy seeks over people throughout the world.

When we choose to focus on darkness, and on the negativity of the world around us we are inevitably feeding that darkness because we are allowing it to effect our own emotions in a negative way.

We need to seek the light. We need to take the time to grow our knowledge on facing the darkness in the world. From a Christian perspective we need to focus on the Light. Focus on God, Focus on Jesus, and allow the Holy Spirit to live within us, and guide us through the darkness from the Light that shines through us as Children of God.

“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” — John 8:12

This verse comes from when the Pharisees brought the adulteress women to Jesus to test Jesus to judge her. Jesus made it clear we who have sinned have no right to judge anymore than those who do not hide their sin. He also made it clear we can all turn to Him, and live in His light.

When we choose to focus on the darkness, the sins of the world, when we start to talk about how they are wrong in their actions we are judging them. We are casting judgement though we may not be throwing stones at them. We even enter into the point where we start to speculate on things such as, “what we would do if we were not Christians…”

It is time for us to stop focusing on the world, and to stop focusing on discussing what would be better, but rather do the work that Jesus did. Show love, show grace, and mercy. We are to forgive, not to trust those who have sinned around us, and to us.

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.” — Colossians 3:2–11

Closing

Again, I am not telling you to ignore what is going on in the world. Sitting back and talking about it, BLASPHEMING about it with others is not going to solve, it is not going to do anything positive. It is going to grow the darkness surrounding it. We need to take that which we see, that which we experience from the darkness, from the Spiritual War going around us, and we need to surrender it to God, and seek Wisdom in how we should act in regards to it.
