What was the solution for this predicament?

So I was born and spent the first ten years of my life in Tucson, Arizona. Then my parents decided we needed to move. Our neighborhood was going downhill in quality. Issues included SWAT being in our neighborhood on a regular basis. Stray bullets almost hitting my Mom. Failing mailbox bombs. I am sure there are other reasons as well, but this is just to name a few.

How did they choose Wisconsin? Well there was a few factors involved. My Dad was from, and born and raised in Tucson, while my Mom was from and born in raised in Rockford, Illinois. They knew that they did not want to move to Rockford. They actually had a small list of places they knew for sure they did not want to live in, nor take their children to be raised.

What was the solution for this predicament? Well rolling out a map, marking the locations that you know you didn’t want to move to, and then blindfolding Mom and having her randomly drop her hand on the map. That hand landed on Wisconsin, and high-ho, high-ho, off to the Midwest we go!

I’ve been in Wisconsin for 19, almost 20 years now! Will I ever move elsewhere? Possibly! Am I settled here? For the moment.
